R -- CATALOGING OF AUDIOVISUAL MONOGRAPHS AND ARCHIVAL FILMS SOL RFP NLM 00-106/MLM POC Lynn Montalvo, Contracting Officer, 301-496-6546 It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to acquire cataloging expertise to produce copy or core cataloging records and archival cataloging records, and to perform final processing (including authorization and labeling) for up to 700 English language audiovisual and computer software materials annually, including various media types (e.g., videocassettes, CD-ROMS, etc.) and archival motion pictures. Experience in applying the Anglo-American Cataloging Rules, 2nd Edition, 1998 Revision (AACR2R) for bibliographic control of audiovisuals and compute software is required, and it is highly desirable that the Contractor have a knowledge of archival cataloging standards for moving images, Library of Congress Rule Interpretations, NLM's classification scheme, and NLM's MeSH subject thesaurus. It is also highly desirable that offerors demonstrate experience in online data entry and editing of records in an automated bibliographic system. NLM will supply the necessary equipment for the durationof the contract period. The work shall be performed on-site at NLM in the NLM Voyager system, the integrated library system used by NLM for the creation and editing of bibliographic and authority records. This requirement is set aside 100% for small businesses. The size standard is 8999, which is for a concern, including its affiliates, having average annual sales or receipts for its preceding three fiscal years not in excess of $5 million. It is anticipated that a one-year fixed price, indefinite delivery (indefinite quantity) type contract will be awarded. The contract will contain options for four (4) successive one-year periods and options for additional quantities during each year. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available approximately fifteen calendar days from publication of this announcement.
