The Department of Veterans Affairs' Solicitation Number 101-07-99, which was delayed under CBD Notice 363336, dated August 4, 1999, will commence on December 20, 1999. Efforts are being made to put the Solicitation on VA's Office of Acquistion And Materiel Management's Web Site. Solicitation should be issued on or about January 14, 2000, with a Due Date on or about February 15, 2000. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a contractor to provide centralized cataloging services for the 170 Department of Veterans Affairs Network (VALNET) libraries. The Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) will be used as the bibliograpic utility to provide copy, modified, and original cataloging for monographs, serials and audiovisuals. Nationally accepted standards and current cataloging practices will be used as directed in the Anglo-American Cataloging Rules, 2nd ed., 1998 Rev. and the Library of Congress Rules Interpretations. The principal products include catalog cards and a computer record for individual VA libraries. Other products that can be produced from the VA cataloging records are union lists enable VALNET libraries to locate library materials for resource sharing. The contract period will be for one year with four optional years. This proposed requirement is 100% Small Business Set-Aside. SIC is 7375, $18 million.
