The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a requirement for and also intends to issue a solicitation for a competitive acquisition for the acquisition of Occupational Health Registered Nursing Services at the SSA's Frank Hagel Federal Building, 1221 Nevin Avenue, 1st Floor, Richmond, CA 94806. The prospective contractor shall provide the services of one (1) registered nurse for the employees of this federal building. The nurse used to staff this health unit must be a registered nurse in the State of California and shall have at least two (2) years of experience as a nurse in an occupational health program or its equivalence. This nurse shall have current malpractice insurance in the amount of 1 million dollars per occurrence. This acquisition is determined to be subject to Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) regarding the acquisition of commercial items. This acquisition is a simplified acquisition under the test program for certain commercial items and a request for quotation, number SSA-RFQ-99-3793, is scheduled for release on or about April 1, 1999, with quotations due 21 calendar days thereafter. Requests for the RFQ may be mailed or sent via telefax on (410) 966-9310. All requests must be in writing and should cite the solicitation number SSA-RFQ-99-3793. No telephone requests will be honored. This requirement is a 100 percent small business set-aside. Quotations from all responsible small business sources shall be considered by the agency. Quotations received from Other than a small business will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration. SSA anticipates awarding a firm, fixed-price contract with four 1-year option periods, if exercised.
