Provide cataloging and classification services for the Coastal Zone Information Collection (CZIC), at the U.S. Dept of Commerce, Coastal Services Center (CSC), 2234 South Hobson Avenue, Charleston, SC, using OCLC (On-Line Computer Library Center, Inc.). The collection consists primarily of technical publications and other media developed as a result of the Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA) of 1972. The entire collection consists of approximately 12,000 items with roughly 7000 items remaining to be cataloged and classified. The contractor will perform classification and full-level copy and original cataloging with piece in hand utilizing OCLC and the library's account. Records for the items will be exported from OCLC to 3 " diskettes, which will be given to the CSC Librarian. Knowledge of coastal environmental subjects is useful, as many of the subject headings necessary for accessibility must be created. It is estimated that 70% of the catalog requires original cataloging and the remaining 30% require copy cataloging. Period of Performance: September 14, 1998 through September 13, 1999 with one one-year option. This is 100% Set-Aside for Small Businesses.
