Q -- PROVIDE INTENSIVE CARE REGISTERED NURSES SOL DADA13-98-R-0011 DUE 071598 POC Contract Specialist Ruth Richmond (253) 968-4912 (Site Code DADA13) Provide RNs with ICU experience to Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Tacoma, Washington for the period of 19 July 1998 (or date of award) through 3 October 1998. Services shall be required 24 hrs/day, 7 days/wk to include Federal Holidays for an estimated total of 3,984 day shift hours (based on 12/hr shift) and 357 night shift hours (based on 12/hr shift). Minimum qualifications and certifications for RNs propose to perform Critical Care Nursing services at MAMC are: (a) A license that is currently active, unrestricted and in good standing from a State or Territory of the United States or Puerto Rico. (b) BCLS certification. (c) Documentation of annual attendance at JCAHO required classes for infection Control and Safety. (d) Physical and mental capability to perform all duties described herein. (e) The equivalent of one year experience within the last three years in the clinical area in which the employee will work. Such experience shall have been in an acute care facility. Work in a convalescent care type facility shall not be considered acceptable qualifying experience for RNs. Exceptions to the minimum one year experience may be made on a case by case basis at the sole discretion of the Chief Nurse. (f) Contract employees shall speak, understand, read and write English fluently and enunciate with sufficient clarity to be understood by MAMC personnel and patients. (g) Titrating iv medications, managing patients on ventillators, independent administration of emergency drugs, drawing arterial blood gases, and defibrillating patients. (h) ACLS training is required.
