R -- LIBRARY CATALOGING POC Contact Douglas Joyner, Contracting Officer, 301-344-2850 The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, National Agricultural Library (NAL)is seeking sources to perform searching and physical processing of aproximately 8200 monograph and periodical serial titles that are part of the USDA History Collection of the Economic Research Service. The contractor will be required to search the monographs and periodical serials in the NAL online catalog (NAL OPAC)and card catalog to determine titles new to NAL; search the monographs in the stacks in order to determine the number of copies already owned by NAL and the number of copies to be added to the collection based on the Library's copy policy; create item records in the NAL OPAC for books to be added to the NAL collection; affix call number and property labels to mongraphs being added to the collection, create one item record per serial title in the NAL OPAC; create a serial holdings record listing succinctly the issues that are part of this gift collection.
