203-444-8299 The contractor shall provide the part-time services of a
Registered Clinical/Administrative Dietitian for the Academy Clinic and
cadet and enlisted dining facilities at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy,
New London, CT. The dietitian shall monitor and evaluate all dietary
and food requirements set forth in the food service contract regarding
compliance with the recommended daily dietary and nutritional
allowances for the age and activity of the patrons and submit weekly
reports regarding quality assurance, levels of cleanliness, sanitation,
safety and housekeeping provided by the food service contractor. Duties
also include the review of all menus for both dining facilities; random
checks of food trays and box lunches for appropriate caloric values and
portions set forth in the food service contract as well as adherence to
posted menus; counsel outpatient and inpatient cadets and military
personnel referred by the senior medical officer, and; provide written
documentation to each patient's medical record. The basic contract
period will be 1 October 1996 through 30 September 1997 with four
one-year option periods. This procurement is 100% set-aside for small
business; SIC Code is 8049; Size Standard is $3,500,000.00. It is
intended to award a Firm Fixed-Price contract. Requests must be made in

number. For minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business
Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
