- Amendment A0001 RFI See attached SF-30 for Q&A Q: Could you please confirm whether the MTU 20V4000M93L main engines are connected to the reduction gears through a jack shaft/intermediate shaft, or whether the engines are directly coupled to the reduction gears through the Geislinger coupling? A: They are coupled through a Geislinger coupling. Attached are drawings for your reference. This combined synopsis/solicitation for services is prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This synopsis/solicitation is being advertised as Small Business Set-Aside only. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; no separate written solicitation will be issued. The solicitation number is 70Z028-26-Q-0000495. Applicable North American Industry Classification Standard (NAICS) codes are: 336611 Ship Building and Repairing, Size standard in employees (1,300) This requirement is for a firm fixed price services contract. The contract will be awarded using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR part 13 The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the proposer responsible, whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, Lowest Price, Technically Acceptable. Anticipated award date: 5 business days after close of solicitation, OOA 30 September 2026 Quotes are to be received no later than close of business (3 p.m.) on 24 September 2026. Quotes can be email to: Jerry.Lopez@uscg.mil Telephone requests of quotes, will not be accepted, a formal notice of changes (if applicable) will be issued in Sam.Gov Wage determination: 2015-4543, Rev 37 dated 08/12/2026 SCOPE OF WORK: Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials and equipment required to perform pre-alignment inspections, precision alignment, and post-alignment verification of two newly installed MTU 20V4000M93L main diesel engines aboard CGC Kathleen Moore. Services shall ensure proper integration with existing reduction gears and propulsion system components. Location: USCGC Kathleen Moore C/O USCG Base Miami Beach 100 MacArthur Causeway Miami Beach, FL. 33139 POC: Mr. Bryan Goltz Period of Performance: Work is expected to commence at NLT 5 business days after award is made and submitted to awardee. Anticipated award date: 30 September 2026 Site visit: It is highly recommended and encouraged that a site visit is performed at the unit to field verify the requirements within the SOW and speak with the unit POC for this project. A site visit date has been set for Wednesday September 16thth at 0900. Site visit will be performed on a different cutter/ship as the CGC Kathleen Moore which requires this service has not yet arrived to Base Miami Beach. Vendors are to coordinate their attendance with unit personnel listed below.
