- The Navy Region Southwest (NRSW) Qualified Recycling Program (QRP) is currently accepting bids for a one-year term sale agreement for Scrap Lead Acid Batteries. Below is a brief overview of the sale details: Material: Scrap Lead Acid Batteries (including automotive, forklift, airplane, metal encased, and small batteries). Estimated Volume: Approximately 34,000 pounds annually. Location: Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Seal Beach (including pick-up sites at Det. Fallbrook and NAVSEA Norco). Inspection Period: March 26, 2026, through April 9, 2026. To schedule a material inspection, please contact Christian Dominguez at (619) 719-3792 or christian.dominguez.naf@us.navy.mil. Bid Deadline: April 16, 2026, strictly no later than 2:00 P.M. Pacific Time. Important Submission Requirements: Bids must be submitted via commercial carrier service ONLY (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL). E-mailed, faxed, hand-carried, or United States Postal Service (USPS) submittals will not be accepted. Your bid submittal must include a current U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ID number (or the EPA ID of your processing facility).
