Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New England District is solicitating an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for Construction Services to relocate the egress door for the Technical Information Analysis Center (TIAC) located at the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) in Hanover, NH. This will be a 100% Small Business Set-Aside IFB procurement. The NAICS code for the work described below is 236220 and the size standard is $45 million. The estimated cost range of this project is between $500,000 to $1 Million. The project site is at the TIAC Building located on the CRREL campus. CRREL is a USACE research campus which solves important problems of the Department of Defense and the Nation by advancing and applying science and engineering to complex environments, materials and processes with unique core competencies related to the Earth?s cold regions. This project is to construct a new egress doorway for the building and will enhance the mobility and aesthetics for a world class research facility. The work consists of providing Construction Services to demolish the existing suspended concrete walkway (20 LF) and the associated metal egress doorway. A new secured, storefront style entrance will be constructed in a relocated area on the south facing side of the building. The new egress doorway will include a heated vestibule (100 SF) and additional work for interior construction such as new partitions and finishes to accommodate a configured egress path in the building. Ancillary renovation impacts include electrical work, HVAC, and life safety systems. All work is located on an access controlled military installation. The TIAC building was constructed in 1992 and is primarily an office building. It is a 4-story steel structure enclosed by a mixture of 6? CMU cavity walls with brick veneer and metal stud walls with insulated metal panel. The first-floor level has a 1-foot raised access floor throughout.
