Description
RFI RESPONSE The RFP submission due date is Feb 27th, this is the same deadline of submission of RFI's. Please advise and confirm in an amendment that the bid's due date will be after responses to all RFI's are received by bidding contractors. RFP submission is due March 10. New amendment will confirm RFI submission date to be March 7. The RFP requires 15 days period of performance. Please advise if an administrative NTP can be issued after award to cover for submittals, long lead procurement, shutdown requests and further field inspections. Or will the VA increase the period of performance to say another 2 months. The SOW states that the contractor must perform to the standards in this contract. This project shall take no longer than 15 calendar days from the notice to proceed to complete. Therefore, the contractor shall abide by the projected time of 15 days, if the project overlaps the 15-day mark a modification to extend POP will be issued. In reference to the RFP requirement 'Specific Tasks' under item 3.2.2 it is not clear on what to do with the 40HP motor, is contractor to 'REBUILD' or REPLACE' the 40 HP motor?- please clarify as this will be crucial to pricing the bid if the motor need to be completely replaced. Replace During the site visit, our associates inquired about the magnitude or price range for this solicitation. We were informed that bidders will have to provide that information to the VA. Please include this instruction in an amendment for everyone's information. The magnitude of the project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Our subcontractors who specialize in cooling tower works present during the site walk recommend replacement of the 40HP motor, coupling assembly, main tower support frame, fan housing and fan blades.- please confirm this is the VA intent as well to equalize the playing field for bidders. VA s intent is to have covered what is in the SOW. The product and model number for the motors and cooling tower are from 2012 and there is a possibility of these products to be no longer in production. Please advise if these components can be replaced with another product or an approved equal. Yes The RFP did not require any design submittal review for this project. Please advise if submittals will need to be prepared for VA review and approval prior to contractor procurement and installation. Yes, if not replace like for like.
