Description
1.Hazmat survey - Question #8 & #10 requested a copy of the HAZmat Surveys and the response was that an ""ACM report was provided in the Bid Documents"", however no ACM report was included with the bid documents. Please provide. The ACM report by dated November 23, 2020, should have been included right after Section 02 83 33.13 in the specification book. IT is attached herein as a separate file. 2.Asbestos containment Question #31 - The answer stated that ""halls must be in operational state the next day"". Please clarify if the Government intends for us to take down containment areas at the end of each day and set them up again the following morning which will dramatically slow down the abatement process and could create a potentially unsafe environment with multiple disturbances to the affected areas. We would propose to keep containment in place to quickly complete abatement activities and keep hall access open as much as possible. Please clarify the Gov'ts intent on this. Abatement/containment will take priority. Containment not to be removed once in place. Abatement procedures to be followed. The contractor may be required to work with the VA on setup to maintain access to a certain area, if possible. (Note: Specification Sections 02 82 11, 02 82 13.19, and 02 83 33.13 should be reviewed for additional asbestos containment procedures.) 3. Expansion Joints scope of work Question #23: A-101 Demo Note 1, states to remove existing joint cover plate at floor and walls (do not remove until new plates are ready for installation). A-101 Key Note 1, states to provide aluminum expansion joint cover plate at floor at walls. A-101 Key Note 6, states to replace steel protection at both sides of expansion joint cover plate. Detail 12/A-501 indicates a cut section of a floor expansion joint. There is a note that states to field verify. The note is pointing to a dotted line that seems to indicate the removal of the entire body of the expansion joint. The intent is to remove and replace the cover plate, while leaving the expansion joint body in place. The steel protection on both sides of wall expansion joint cover plate in Corridor CG004 as shown on A-101 Keynote 6 and Floor Plan 1 is a separate item. Please also refer to Hallway Elevations 3 and 4 on Sheet A-201.
