- Description
- The acquisition is subject to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 237110 with a size standard of $45 Mil. This acquisition will be solicited as an Invitation for Bid (IFB) prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subparts 14 and 36. A firm-fixed price contract award is contemplated. The project magnitude is estimated between $250,000 and $500,000. Place of performance will be Clark County, Nevada. The National Park Service requires a contractor to repaint the inside of the concrete water tank at Las Vegas Bay inside Lake Mead National Recreation Area near Henderson, Nevada. Due to the deteriorated condition of the adjacent steel water tank, the steel tank will be taken offline, and the concrete tank will be put fully in service. Only one cell of the concrete tank is currently in operation and the existing ductile iron pipes and valves have corroded. The last repainting of this concrete was done when it was built in 2001. The project would provide a sustainable supply of raw water storage for irrigation and fire protection water. The concrete tank has 2 cells which require phasing of the work on one cell while keeping the other cell in service. The scope of work includes: draining the tank, removing cathodic protection system components, removing the existing paint, removal and stabilization of existing steel rusting steel tie-backs, removal and replacement of existing ductile iron valves and piping, repairing, painting interior of the concrete tank, refilling, disinfecting and performing water samples on the 150,000 gallon two cell partially buried concrete water storage tank. The existing valve vault with the valves and piping are located inside a confined entry space. To remove the confined space entry restrictions and allow safer and easier access to the valves by park employees, an opening will be saw-cut through the concrete wall and a solid metal vented secure door will be installed in the wall. An exhaust vent will be added to the roof to facilitate ventilation for air quality and moisture reduction in the valve vault room. All work shall be in strict compliance with the specifications and/or drawings.
