Description
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) intends to issue a solicitation for a U.S. Personal Services Contract (USPSC) Labor Specialist, GS-13 equivalent position for USAID�s Bureau for Development, Democracy and Innovation (DDI), Center for Democracy, Human Rights and Governance (DRG). The Labor Specialist will be a subject matter expert on labor programming and labor-related topics, and will support the work of USAID field Missions and Washington Operating Units. The position will advise USAID on issues including, but not limited to, forced labor, labor migration, the integration of labor issues into other development sectors, international trade policy, worker organization capacity building, labor law, and international labor standards. The Specialist must also be well versed in labor-related academic research, issues, and trends, including the emerging debates on the effects of technology on labor markets and the Future of Work. The Labor Specialist is expected to carry out a diverse set of work assignments related to USAID's labor rights approaches, with some technical oversight from the Senior Labor Advisor, including leading or making significant contributions to research; programming; training; monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL); and policy formulation. The duration of the contract period is anticipated to be one year, with four, one-year option periods, for a total possible period of performance of five years. The solicitation will be published on the System for Award Management (SAM) website (www.sam.gov).� Interested parties are advised to periodically monitor this website for updates on this potential opportunity.
