- Reference RFI Synopsis: FA8554-17-R-0002 NSN: 5935-01-336-9017AL P/N: 654478-3 The AIM-120 Buffer Connectors effort has been assigned a new solicitation number, FA8554-18-R-0004, as a result of fiscal year change. The AIM-120 Buffer Connector provides electrical connectivity between the LAU-12X launcher and the AIM-120 missile. This item goes on an end item which is loaded on the F-15A/B/C/D/E, F-16A/B/C/D, and F-18C/D/E/F/G aircraft as well as Mounted Advanced Medium Range Air to Air Missile System (HUMRAAM) and Surface Launched Advanced Medium Range Air to Air Missile (SLAMRAAM) ground launchers. This requirement is in support of the United States Air Force (USAF), United States Navy (USN) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS). The acquisition strategy for this requirement is a five year Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract (1 year base and four-1 year ordering periods. The projected quantities, NSN referenced above, are as follows: 3,000 in the base year and up to 3,000 per year for each following ordering periods. The Government anticipates to award this sole source effort to HI REL Connectors Inc., CAGE Code 34222, in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government invites all sources who feel qualified to submit proposals and technical data for review, but the Government requires that the awardee of this effort be ready to perform at full capacity upon contract award. It should be noted this requirement will not be delayed for qualification purposes. No paper copies of solicitation will be mailed.
