- Description
- Pursuant to 13.106-1(b), the National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to award a simplified acquisition, sole source purchase order with Gartner, Inc. for the IT Research and Advisory Services. Gartner Research is the only firm capable of providing specialized information technology-focused research and advisory service. Gartner is unique both in terms of the number of specialized research analysts they provide - over 1,900 analysts, including 15 government-focused analysts with specialized Federal Government experience. Gartner for Technical Professionals provides in-depth, technical advice that NSF needs for faster and more effective architecture, engineering and implementation decisions. This can be done via its documents, teleconferences, webinars, and training events lead by its technical experts who provide customized input and advice. Gartner enables NSF to quickly validate technical approaches and decisions being provided by contractors, such as Booz Allen Hamilton and Phacil. NSF requires research and analysis services that are unique to Gartner (e.g., Magic Quadrant, Hype Cycles, Key IT Metrics Data, customized support of job classes, contract review services, and Services for IT Leaders). Gartner focuses on many technical areas of information technology that are not covered by other research consulting vendors. Gartner also provides toolkits - templates to supplement the research - that can be immediately applied to help solve real life IT challenges. The anticipated period of performance is April 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is for informational purposes only
