- Description
- James J Peters VA Medical Center (JJPVAMC), Bronx, NY, has a requirement to purchase next generation sequencing (NGS) of RNA and DNA services. In order to provide these services to the Government, the Contractor should have access to a Genomic Facility that is equipped with appropriate instrumentation and is staffed with qualified personnel. The following requirements should be fulfilled: a.The Genomic Center/Facility should be able to perform HiSeq 2500 high output 2x50bp sequencing. b.The Genomic Center/Facility should be situated in the New York City metropolitan area within a driving radius of 1 hour (average time). The reason for (b) is that the samples to be sequenced are sensitive to temperature and should be kept frozen at -80 °C using dry ice. The Principal Investigator (PI) of the study, or the members of PI's laboratory in the James J Peters VA Medical Center (JJPVAMC), Bronx, NY, will deliver the samples to the Center/Facility. Due to the necessity to maintain temperature control, physical integrity of the samples and chain of custody, transportation of the samples outside this specified radius is infeasible as it would require alternative shipping methods at greater expense, and would pose increased risks of damage to or loss of the samples. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (large business, small business, 8(a), SDVOSB, etc.), relative to NAICS code 334516 (size standard of 500 employees). Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Based on responses to this synopsis, the Government may issue a RFQ Performance Period: Date of award, plus one year. Type of Contract: Firm Fixed Price This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, however; any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Thursday, May 26, 2016, 12:00 Noon, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Elaine DiBucci at elaine.dibucci@va.gov and should include company name, address, point of contact, business size, and product information. No telephone responses will be accepted. This notice is to assist the Government in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement.
