Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)The Bureau of Reclamation Pacific Northwest Region, Snake River Area Office, Middle Snake Field Office, Cascade Field Station, Cascade, Idaho (Reclamation) is soliciting for small business contractor interest, comment, and capability statements pertaining to performing Fire Management Fuels Reduction Services around Lake Cascade near Cascade, ID. The North American Classification System - NAICS Code 115310 - Support Activity for Forestry. The work contemplated would involve thinning approximately 300 acres of timber lands over a period of three (3) to five (5) years. The work to be performed would be restricted to a September - November timeframe and would require manual labor/machinery efforts due to the steep and rugged terrain. Due to the terrain and the close proximity of homes there will be no slash burning conducted. All slash will need to be chipped and removed from the area. The species of trees to be thinned are predominantly Ponderosa pine. Most of these trees are second growth and are located in "Doghair" thickets. The work proposed would be a goods for services basis where the market value of the firewood, saw logs, post and poles, and wood chips (Goods) would be equal consideration for thinning, restoration and clean up (Services) or if applicable, result in a cost sharing of proceeds. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service. Further, Reclamation is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondents are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested parties' expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is issued, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the responsibility of the potential contractors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this request.Reclamation is conducting this market research to determine interest, solicit alternative ideas, and existence of potential small business sources with the capability to accomplish this work. Respondents should provide statements of interest with past experience in this type of work as a contractor, small business status, and any additional comments on the goods for services method of accomplishing this work.
