- Description
- Additional clarification questions regarding solicitation FA8519-11-R-30687. Q1. PWS paragraphs 4.1.1 (HH 113), 4.2.4 (HH 229), and 4.3.6 (HH 244) all state, "The Contractor shall replace ALL roll up door motors with the latest configuration Wayne Dalton motors." The technical documentation lists the "motor" as one components of the "power unit" for the roll-up doors. Another commercial term for the "power unit" is "door operator". Is the intention to replace the complete power unit or door operator as opposed to just the motor as stated in the PWS? A1. It is our intention to require replacement of the complete power unit, not just the motor. Q2. Also, in reference to question 1, there is no configuration shown in the current technical data providing for a configuration using Wayne Dalton motors or power units. In addition, no ECP is provided or referenced in the solicitation which provides for such a configuration. Lastly, no supplemental data is provided in section 5 of the PWS which would outline the make / model of any Wayne-Dalton motors or power units. Please provide configuration information for Wayne Dalton components. A2. We have been using the Wayne Dalton power units for some time now, but like several other subcomponents, they have never been captured in the TO. We have never listed the specific models in the PWS. Q3. PWS paragraph 4.1.3 makes reference to not only the standard configuration of the communications system as outlined in the current technical documentation for the A/F37T-10, but also includes possible repairs to components that are part of the A/M37T-20 Test Cab communications system. The Technical Manual 74-1025 provided address components of both the T-10 and T-20 as a single or integrated system. However, this is a document prepared by another vendor for a prior contract effort. Has this information been provided as reference of the existing system, or to become a configuration standard superseding the current A/F37T-10 technical documentation? A3. This information has been provided as a reference for the existing system. It is not intended to supersede the T-10 technical documentation. Q4. PWS paragraph 4.2.8 states, "The Contractor shall repair all damage and replace any components necessary to bring the augmenter and diffuser assemblies into a fully operational, like-new condition." Considering the condition of the acoustical treatment / packing cannot be observed prior to removal of augmenter liner sheets, is it the intention of the PWS to omit or include the augmenter acoustical materials / packing? Also, if included, since the standard is "like-new" condition, should prospective bidders presume the augmenter packing condition is not in "like-new" condition given that deterioration of acoustical packing occurs with every engine run? A4. No augmenter tube repack is required. The insulation is fairly new (~8 years) and was recently inspected and found to be in good condition.
