- Solicitation No. VA245-10-IB-0162 - The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a construction contractor to furnish all labor, tools, material, equipment, supplies and supervision to provide FCA OUTBUILDING ROOF REPAIR located at the Department of VA Medical Center, 510 Butler Avenue, Martinsburg, WV. Project Number is 613-08-625. Competition for this procurement is restricted to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). The work includes, but is not limited to, demolition, architectural renovations as required by drawings and specifications. Base Bid includes replacing roofing on seven (7) buildings: 401, 314, 500-6B, 304, 306, 310 and 308. There are Bid Alternates as well. Estimated construction cost range is $500,000 - $1,000,000. The firm must be approved under NAICS 238160, size standard: $14 million. The bidder shall obtain any and all necessary licenses or permits required to perform this work in the State of WV. Prospective contractors must be registered and current in the following websites: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov, http://www.ccr.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov to be eligible for award. A Joint Venture Agreement (JV Agreement) must be completed at the time of the bid opening and conform to JV requirements. JV agreements should be submitted with the bid. bids will be accepted from only responsible and responsive contractors. There will be one pre-bid site visit which will be held on June 29, 2010 at 9am local time. Prospective bidders are to report to the Main Lobby, Building 500, in order to obtain a temporary badge, then report to the Facilities Management Service Conference Room in B308B. All interested parties are encouraged to attend this site visit. All questions generated from the site visit shall be submitted in writing on company letterhead to the contracting officer (email address: shari.kesecker@va.gov). The project during is expected to be 210 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. Prospective contractors may acquire solicitation documents, which are only available in.pdf electronic format by registering and downloading plans and specifications from the FedBizOpps website @ www.fbo.gov. Solicitation documents will be available on or about June 15, 2010. Approximate bid opening date is July 20, 2010. Award of a firm fixed-price construction contract is anticipated to be August 6, 2010. There will be a public bid opening. The procurement is subject to availability of funds.
