- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army, RDECOM, Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army Soldier System Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order to Mine Safety Appliance Company, Murrysville, PA 15668. The order involves purchasing two hundred and seventy-five (275) MICH TC-2001 Combat Helmets: Tan in color. The helmets are to be provided with size #6 padding and to be pre-drilled with a Three Hole T-Bracket pattern. This is being sole-sourced to Mine Safety Appliance because it is the only configuration that has undergone ballistic testing and has been validated and approved to meet USSOCOM performance requirements. MSA is the only contractor able to produce these items and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy USSOCOM requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that determines it can meet the requirements may give written notice to the Contract Specialist within five (5) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. This information can be emailed to the Contract Specialist, Nathan.C.Jordan@us.army.mil. Responses will be evaluated, however, a determination by the government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. This synopsis expires 11 February 2009 at 1000 EST.
