Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Proposals are being requested, a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is a request for quotations. This RFQ is issued under simplified acquisition procedures. This RFQ has one line item. The item being procured for AFRL/MLLP, WPAFB is as follows: High Temperature Furnace Specifications 1. General: AFRL/MLLP has a requirement for a laboratory furnace that will allow validation of sensor performance and durability at high temperature operating environments. The equipment will be installed on the ground floor of Building 71 Room 304-1. This room has a concrete floor and no modifications to the physical structure of the room will be required other than wiring for power in the vicinity of the furnace. The requirements for the laboratory furnace are described below: II. Basic Requirements: a. Capability to continuously operate at 1,600 degrees C for extended periods of time b. Furnace operating temperatures will require molybdenum disilicide heating elements c. Interior furnace size should allow the placement of a 16" long sample for testing d. A type B thermocouple is required for furnace feedback control. III. Required Optional Equipment: a. A furnace controller with multiple temperature profile segments is necessary b. RS-232 communications capability for computer controlled operationg c. 2" port on the side or back of the furnace to allow for data transmission of sensos being tested inside the chamber to an outside data acquisition and processing station d. Stainless Steel flange to allow for the feedthrough of test article data communications wiring e. Alumina plug to protect the stainless steel flange f. Purge kit for nitrogen or argon purge g. Exhaust port for nitrogen or argon purge with ceramic plug h. An alumina plate is required for the furnace bottom IV. Installation/Testing/Acceptance a. Installation, testing and acceptance shall be performed by government and/or government sponsored contractors in Bldg 71 Room 304-1 b. Final acceptance testing on-site by AFRL/MLLP to ensure above specification requirements are met. V. Warranty: One year limited warrantee on electronic components from the date of delivery. The size standard for this effort is 500 employees.
