Description

The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), Huntsville, AL proposes to acquire, on a sole sources basis from DRS Data & Imaging Systems, Inc., 80 each Rocket Pod Alignment Kits (RPAKs), Part Number 2025131-01 in accordance with existing DRS p roduction drawings. The RPAK is used to align the AH-64D Longbow Apache Rocket Pods to improve shooting accuracy with the rockets. The effort requires engineers and technicians who possess in depth knowledge of the bore sighting discipline in conjunction with the AH-64 Apache aircraft and its associated subsystems. The Government intends to award a contract to DRS Data & Imaging Systems, 138 Bauer Drive, Oakland, NJ 07436-3123 under the authority of justification for Other than Full and Open Competition of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1), who maintains the exclusive engineering knowledge, design and history associated with the captive bore sight harmonization kit (CBHK) and RPAK design. DRS is the sole manufacture of both alignment kits. The Government requirement s can only be satisfied by one source or a limited number of sources. The period of performance is 12 months after date of contract. There is no technical data package suitable for full and open competition is not available for this requirement. All respon sible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the contracting officer.
