Description

The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a Purchase Order on a sole source basis to: Allentown Caging Equipment Co., Inc. 165 Route 526 Allentown, NJ 08501-1201 for the specialized Single-Faced Negative Pressure Mouse Rack system. Allentown Caging?s product has safety considerations related to the aerosol exposure of mice with B anthracis spores, and the research requires that infected animals be housed in containment cages inside the Biosafety Level 3. This specific type of caging equipment provides the FDA with that capability. This equipment will be added to existing equipment manufactured by the contractor and will increase the holding capacity at the FDA facility. NO REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of providing the required service as stated herein may submit a capability statement to document its ability to provide the required services, which will be considered if received by the tenth (10th) calendar day following the appearance of this announcement. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responses or questions regarding this posting must be in writing and can be sent via email to Joseph.Pishioneri@fda.hhs.gov. No phone calls will be accepted. An award will be made ten (10) calendar days from the date of this notice. This sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition for commercial items in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5.
