Description

The U. S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis, under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), with the University of Oklahoma for the use of multi-function document machines on site. These multi-function document machines will be used for the printing services, in- and out-bound faxes, scanning of paper documents for archival to e-mail and file systems, electronic sending of fax documents by e-copy; all this should be maintained within one system. If not, there would be required a duplication of space, time, and expense with respect to phone lines, network connections, security rules, monitoring of devices, and floor or counter space. The University leases the copiers and due to space limitations and to maintain continuity, it is beneficial for tenants to use the University equipment. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE 100K). No solicitation is planned. This synopsis is issued for information only. Based on the lease agreement between NOAA and the University, the University of Oklahoma is the only source for the copy machine services. Anticipated award date July 3, 2006.
