Description

Services to request and develop a history of the Pacific Southwest (PSW) Research Station in California from the 1930's to the present. This history will focus on both the history of PSW and the historical contributions of PSW research to the Forest Service and to society as a whole. It is to be written in a creative, analytical style for educated laypersons, and will result in a book-length, image-rich publication. The author must have experience in historical research, working with government records and photographs, and coordinating with a variety of internal resource staffs. This project will lend itself to development of other products, such as a CD of images, a web site, video, multimedia and history presentations, etc. Period of Performance shall be approximately 12 months from the start date. The start date shall be approximately 10 days from the date of award. Estimated award date is August 31, 2005.
