Description

NA The U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC), Fort Hood, TX has a requirement for Satellite subscription service with a base period plus four one-year options, subject to annual funding. The service shall be Transponder Protected to operate KU Band, a t a 384 Kbps rate with a 15-day notice for upgrade to a higher rate. The standard data rate is 384Kbps with the option of upgrading to higher rates of 512, 768, 1024, or 1544Kbps. One ground station will be located at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and the other ca n be located anywhere in the continental U.S., with the majority of the time west of the Mississippi River. The existing modem is a COMTECH/EFDATA Corporation's 300A with Reed-Solomon outer code. The circuit operating at QPSK, 3/4 FEC coding. The fixed antenna dish is 3.66 meters with a G/T of 28.7 dB/K. The mobile antenna dish is 2.4 meters with a G/T of 25.9 dB/K. The base period will be 20 August 2003 to 19 February 2004. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 517410 with a size standard of $125 mi llion. This acquisition will result in a firm-fixed price contract. The tentative release date of the solicitation is 1 May 2003 and the tentative date for receipt of proposals is 16 May 2003.
