- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns only. The estimated value of this procurement is between $100,000.00 and $200,000.00. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The acquisition is for drydock repairs to the USCGC PENDENT (WYTL-65608), a 65 foot ?D? Ice Breaking Harbor Tug. The homeport of the USCGC PENDENT is located at CG Base 427 Commercial St. Boston, MA 02109. The performance period is 42 calendar days and is expected to begin on or about 15 July 2002. The work items include but are not limited to: welding repairs; clean and inspect diesel fuel tank; clean and inspect sewage holding tank; remove, inspect, and reinstall propeller shaft; renew shaft covering; renew water-lubricated shaft bearings; renew shaft sleeves; renew propeller; clean and test grid coolers and lube oil cooler; preserve transducer hull ring(s) and renew the V850 depth indicating transducer; overhaul and renew valves; inspect and test air receivers and relief valves; remove, inspect, and reinstall rudder assembly; inspect various deck fittings; preserve diesel fuel tank; preserve and disinfect potable water tanks; preserve sewage holding tank; preserve weather decks; preserve underwater body; preserve freeboard; provide temporary berthing; provide temporary logistics; routine drydocking; renew longitudal stringer in Engine Room; renew sewage riser; renew handrails and stanchions; renew deck in stack fan space; inspect and renew metal on main deck; renew deck covering system aboard the USCGC PENDENT (WTYL 65608). All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to be issued under full and open competition procedures. In your response please include: (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit an offer for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers; (c) past performance references with points of contact and telephone numbers. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by 05 April 2002. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted in the CBD.
